EE KOW KEANG

Ee Kow Keang is the Joint Managing Consultant of SBF Group of Consulting Companies. Before joining the SBF Group more than eight years ago, Ee had worked for three large Malaysian banks.

During his 25 years in banking, Ee has been a Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Head of Methods & Systems Department, Head of Operations / Branch Supervision Department and Head / Vice President of Training & Development. Ee’s expertise in training and consulting is, thus, backed by his wide knowledge and practical experience in banking and finance.

Ee is a very experienced and much sought-after course leader. He has conducted many courses and given talks on banking and finance and specialised management subjects for various organisations and institutions in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, England, Vietnam and Myanmar.He was also, for many years, a part-time lecturer for two prestigious executive MBA programmes in Malaysia. Among the subjects he has taught are Strategic Management / Business Policy, Human Resource Management / Organisational Development and Legal Aspects of International Trade. He has contributed many articles to the Banker’s Journal Malaysia and other publications and was a columnist for the STAR newspaper writing the very popular columns "Managing People" and "Your Friendly Banker".

Besides banking and training, Ee also has wide business counselling experience. He has advised and assisted many businessmen in matters such as identifying and structuring their banking needs, evaluation of business potential and viability, organisational restructuring and business start-ups.

In the last few years, Ee has also been very actively involved in counselling and assisting employees affected by job separation exercises manage the very challenging situation they are in. He has conducted many courses for them for organisations such as Malayan Banking Berhad, Bumiputra Commerce Bank Berhad, Affin Bank Berhad, Shell Malaysia Trading Sendirian Berhad, Carrier International Sendirian Berhad, Texas Instruments Sendirian Berhad, Celcom Berhad and Time dotCom Berhad. Besides courses for leaving employees, Ee also conducts courses for the staying managers on managing the impact of the (separation) exercises on their staff.

Ee is also the Advisor to Creditassess.com, a credit site dedicated to assisting businessmen and practicing professionals find answers to the many questions that they may have in the areas of credit management, business financing and investment analysis.

MS GOH AI YAT

Goh Ai Yat is the Joint Managing Consultant of the SBF Group of Companies. Prior to setting up the SBF Group eight years ago, she was the Deputy General Manager of Sogelease (an associate of SOCIETE GENERALE – a leading French bank) based in Malaysia. She had also held various management positions at Hong Leong Finance (M) Bhd, United Orix Leasing Bhd and Supreme Finance (M) Bhd.

Ai Yat has extensive experience in banking and finance. She is a much sought-after course facilitator, in particular for courses on marketing & business development, selling and credit evaluation. She has conducted many such courses for bankers, managers and businessmen from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Besides training, Ai Yat is also actively involved in advising and helping businessmen in matters such as identifying and structuring their financing needs, preparation of feasibility reports, development of new markets and business tie-ups. She also assists those preparing their companies for listing on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

During the last 3 years Ai Yat has also been regularly conducting entrepreneurial development courses for aspirant entrepreneurs, especially those who were affected by job separation exercises. She is the principal course leader for the Self-Employment Training Programme (which she assisted in developing) offered by the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). Among the entrepreneurial development projects she has been involved in are the efforts to encourage housewives and retirees start their own businesses and to create more self-reliant and entrepreneurial school children in Singapore. Ai Yat is also currently teaching Entrepreneurial Process for the BBA degree programme of the RMIT University.

Ai Yat herself has started and operated a number of small businesses very successfully.

MS KOH SIEW MIN

Koh Siew Min is the Managing Consultant of SBF Training & Consultancy (International) Pte Ltd (SBF Intl), an associate company of SBF Training & Consultancy Sdn Bhd.

Prior to her appointment as the Managing Consultant of SBF Intl, Siew Min was attached to a number of large banks in Singapore specialising in corporate banking work. She was with Standard Chartered Bank (as Senior Account Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking Department), Keppel Bank of Singapore (as Assistant Vice President, Corporate Banking Department), Banque Paribas (as a Credit Officer, Corporate Banking Department – Offshore Lending), and Development Bank of Singapore (as a Credit Officer, Corporate Banking Department)

Siew Min has extensive experience not only in marketing to and servicing corporate clients but also in credit (project) evaluation and management of loan portfolios. Besides banking and financial consultancy work, she is also actively involved in training. She conducts courses very regularly for banks and other institutions (including the Institute of Banking and Finance, Singapore, Singapore Institute of Management and Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia) not only in Singapore but also in Malaysia and Indonesia. Besides conducting courses in English, Siew Min also conducted banking and business courses in Mandarin for participants from China.

In the academic field, Siew Min teaches Principles of Banking and Financial Management for the degree programmes of the University of London.

PETER FONG BEET HUME

Peter Fong is the Managing Director of SBF-Integrated Business Centre Sdn Bhd (IBC). Prior to his appointment, Peter was attached to a large trading company as the Assistant General Manager. Before venturing into trading, he was with Credit Corporation (Malaysia) Bhd (CCM) and Hong Leong Leasing Sdn Bhd.

Peter has wide experience in credit control management in the financial services industry. As Credit Manager of CCM and Loan Supervision Manager of Hong Leong Leasing he was responsible for implementing the collection systems and the development of strategies and plans for the attainment of the overall credit performance of the companies. His previous assignments included assessing corporate loans, and setting up of new divisions and managing various loan portfolios as well as foreclosed properties. He also headed an Internal Audit team from 1983 to 1985.

Peter is currently very actively involved in helping SMI operators resolve their problems and achieve their business goals. He also regularly conducts courses for SBF Training & Consultancy Sdn Bhd, in particular on loan / receivables management and debt collection. He has conducted such courses for many financial institutions, MNCs and professional organisations.



SBF Entrepreneurship Development Centre Pte Ltd

MS Goh Ai Ying

Goh Ai Ying is the Joint Managing Consultant of SBF Entrepreneurship Development Centre Pte Ltd.

Ai Ying has experience in teaching Principles of Banking in the University of London undergraduate studies at the Singapore Institute of Management. In addition, she is actively involved in developing and training entrepreneurship programs for school children. She has more than 10 years of corporate banking experience covering various customer base from large SMEs to local corporates, MNCs and Financial Institutions – accumulated through attachments with several local and foreign banks in Malaysia and Singapore.

Prior to joining SBF Ai Ying later headed the Product Development Team for Business Banking and spearheaded the Corporate Internet Banking project for the bank.

She was also the Head of the Correspondent Banking Department of a large local bank in Malaysia, managing the counterparty credit limits to banks and other Financial Institutions and building correspondent banking network for the bank.

Ai Ying regularly conducts in-house training for the banks she was with and speaks at seminars organized by various Trade Organizations.

Ms Janice Goh

Janice Goh is the Joint Managing Consultant of SBF Entrepreneurship Development Centre Pte Ltd. She is currently actively involved in counselling and helping those affected by job-separation exercises in venturing into operating their own businesses. She conducts a series of Entrepreneurship courses at the Singapore Institute of Management that is funded by the Ministry of Manpower’s Lifelong Learning Fund. Among the entrepreneurial development projects she has been involved in are the efforts to encourage housewives and retirees start their own businesses and to create more self-reliant and entrepreneurial school children in Singapore.

Janice has extensive working experience in multinational companies like IBM, Monsanto, Citicorp, the Hyatt Regency and DHL Worldwide Express based in Singapore. She was part of a team involved in the setup of a training and consultancy business in Singapore and its expansion into Malaysia.

Janice was the Asia Pacific Regional Development Manager for Customer Services for a large multinational company where she was responsible for developing and deploying programmes and supporting applications to increase productivity, reduce cost, retain employees and "delight" customers. She was also responsible for training trainers from countries within the region and her counterparts from the rest of the world to deploy the programmes she developed.

Janice was responsible for setting up the company’s call centres in The Philippines when it made a direct investment there. Her last major project with the company was the conversion of customer service centres in the Asia Pacific region from cost to profit centres.

Pun Kai Loon

Pun Kai Loon is the Chief Operating Officer of SBF.com Sdn Bhd which manages Creditassess.com, a credit and business information portal designed to meet the strategic business information needs of businessmen and practicing professionals. He is also a Director of PE Research Sdn Bhd, a planning and economics research consultancy firm, and a Principal Consultant of SBF Integrated Business Centre Sdn Bhd.

Formerly, Kai Loon was attached to Citibank as a Vice President. His responsibility portfolio included venture capital and equity investments, credit analysis and risk rating. He had also previously worked as the Fund Manager of a Malaysian bank and a public-listed company and headed an equity investment research unit of a local stockbroking house.

Kai Loon had worked on the Industrial Master Plan and Technology Action Plan for the Malaysian Government and consulted for multilateral agencies like the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations ESCAP and Japan International Cooperation Agency and private organisations like Guinness Anchor, Philips Malaysia and the Housing Developers’ Association. He also wrote for a local Chinese business magazine covering contemporary economic and industry issues.

In the academic field, Kai Loon has taught economics and corporate finance for the degree programmes of the University of London and University of Southern Queensland

Mah Song Huat

Mah Song Huat is the Senior Research Analyst of Creditassess.com. Song Huat’s specialization is mainly in the area of economic research, well complemented by database management. He started off his research career with one of the premier economic think tank in the country, and one of his previous stints include being the economist of one of the anchor banks. During the course of his career, he has worked on research projects, both for the government as well as the private sector.

Over the years, Song Huat has not only dwelled on economic research but has also ventured into corporate planning. Working with one of the listed companies on the KLSE, he was intensely involved in the business process re-engineering of the conglomerate, to attain greater efficiency whilst boosting shareholders’ value.

Ms Kok Lai Kuan

Kok Lai Kuan is the Research Analysis in Creditassess.com. Lai Kuan’s area of specialization is in the field of banking and finance. Over the years of her career, she was attached to a renowned international management consultancy firm as an analyst. During her tenure in consultancy, she was involved in the planning and implementation stages of various projects, working alongside some of the country’s listed banks.

Tang Yiu Hun

Tang Yiu Hun is the Research Analyst in Creditassess.com. Yiu Hun specializes in the information technology, electrical and electronics, and utilities industries. He is a graduate from Victoria University of Australia, holding a Bachelor degree in Business, majoring in Banking & Finance.

Lim Kuan Yuen

Lim Kuan Yuen is the Research Analyst in Creditassess.com. Beside specializing in the construction, automobile, health and tobacco industries, Kuan Yuen is also statistically inclined and IT savvy. He graduated from University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, majoring in the field of Economics.
